"Spit it out"? More like Sid is out.
The globally known band Slipknot has lost yet another member, Sid Wilson. The DJ & Keyboardist was fired from the band for unknown reasons.
For a band that has been making music since 1995, its an absolute miracle that they even exist today. The band is no stranger to tragedy and controversy with the deaths of Paul Gray (4/8/1972 - 5/24/2010) & founding drummer Joey Jordison (4/26/1975 - 7/26/2021). With a recent departure of drummer Jay Weinberg and now Sid, who has a secure spot in Slipknot?
With 9 longtime members of the band, change was bound to happen. The question is, who makes the choices to give members the boot? Notably members Corey Taylor and Shawn Crahan make most of the business decisions for the band and hold majority ownership of Slipknot. So could it be a majority rules vote or just Corey and Shawn pulling all the strings?
We will probably never know the real reason why Sid was fired from the band though there is speculation that it was in part due to his (Sid) anger issues. With the recent split from Kelly Osbourne being made public and coming under fire from her directly, we can tell its been a bad week for Sid.
Since all of this came to light, Corey has since responded on a post stating "We really do wish him the best". Three decades of touring, recording and memories summed up in a single comment.
