Turnstile, the once known as a little hardcore band from Maryland.
To understand how these guys won multiple Grammy's, we need to take it back to 2010 in the city of Baltimore. Vocalist Brendan Yates, Guitarist Brady Ebert, Guitarist Sean Cullen, Bassist Franz Lyons & Drummer Daniel Fang set out to create a new taste of hardcore among the sea of already well established bands.

Turnstile wasn't a Grammy award winning band over night, they needed to step up and stand out. How could they redefine what it meant to be a hardcore punk band? In 2011 they released their debut EP, Pressure To Succeed with a charging energy that demands you to get up and move. With songs like "Death Grip" & "Heavy Hand" they were impossible to ignore.

Years later in 2015 Turnstile would release their debut full length album "Nonstop Feeling" with a softer sound but still with a strong grip on their hardcore roots. In contrast, their most streamed song off of that album is probably one of their softest songs even in todays age of Turnstile - "Blue By You".
Since 2010 Turnstile has been ever-evolving, with each new album bringing subtle changes and experimenting with their own creativity. Seemingly, every album they create gets softer and softer with every lyric sung.

So what was it that grabbed the attention of the Grammys?
They were previously nominated in 2023 for songs off of their album "GLOW ON" with Best Rock Performance for "Holiday" and duly nominated Best Rock Song / Best Metal Performance for their song "Blackout". Although no nominations were selected to win the Grammy's, it put them on the radar for a broader fanbase and a hunger to step up into the next level of their music.
Still riding the high of being a grammy nominated band, Turnstile set out to make a record worth Grammy nomination and something that could take home a win. The band would later release "Never Enough" in June of 2025 and fans reactions were going nuts. The summer of 2025 being dubbed a "Turnstile summer" trending across social media platforms had fans constantly engaged and their song "BIRDS" was topping charts everywhere.
With their exploding popularity, even some of the titans of music are loving their new album with Elton John saying "What a pleasure it is, because your album, Never Enough, is one of my favorite albums of the year..." “In fact, your track, ‘Seeing Stars’, is on my top 20 tracks of the year.”

On February 1st 2026 the Grammy's hosted their 68th annual ceremony honoring musicians and artists across a broad spectrum of categories. Turnstile was nominated for Best Rock Performance – "Never Enough", Best Rock Song – "Never Enough", Best Alternative Music Performance – "Seein' Stars" and took home two Grammy wins for Best Metal Performance – "Birds" and Best Rock Album – Never Enough.
Frontman Brendan Yates shared a warm thank you to fans after receiving the award:
"The community we found through punk and hardcore music has given us a safe place to swing in the dark and land somewhere beautiful. So to our family, our friends, our partners, our peers, and to Baltimore…thank you, we love you!"
With a huge win at the Grammy's and a highly anticipated tour ahead of them, who's going to stop Turnstile?
